Personnel Repair Kelapa Lilin Retaining Wall to Handle Flooding

The Kelapa Gading Sub-district Water Resources Executing Unit (SDA), North Jakarta is repairing the Kelapa Lilin Connecting Channel's retaining wall on Jalan Kelapa Hybrida Timur, RW 17, Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village. The progress has currently reached 85 percent.

Kelapa Gading Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Jhoni Sariyanto Situmorang said, the repair was done to anticipate flooding.
"This retaining wall foundation experiences leaks or seepage that cause residents' settlements to frequently flood," he expressed, Wednesday (7/9).

"This work has been ongoing since mid-June and involves eight personnel," he explained.
It was carried out by first breaking through to 20 centimeters deep, then pouring with a mixture of sand and cement to make it more solid.
"It is targeted for completion next week," he added.
The repair received appreciation from one of the locals, Lina.
"I appreciate the personnel for quickly repairing this retaining wall. Hope the completion of the repair will resolve the leaks that often cause flooding," she stated.
